After a good workout class or just spending a few hours out in the sun at the pool, I love having a cold drink that fills me up. My sister and I came up with this smoothie concoction and tried it out today. It is so delicious and full of protein and antioxidants. After finishing my drink I was full and energized.
- 1 whole frozen banana
- 1 cup of low-fat or greek yogurt
- 2 tsp of peanut butter
- 3 squares of dark chocolate
- 1/4 cup of soy milk
- ice cubes
First I put the yogurt and peanut butter into the blender and gave it a quick pulse before adding the other ingredients. This allowed the yogurt and peanut butter to blend evenly together. Then I added the rest of the ingredients with a handful of ice. Sara and I added a tablespoon of brewer’s yeast to get even more protein (not pictured above) so that is another option.
After blending it all evenly I shaved a little extra dark chocolate on the top. The flavors went so well together!
