Climbing Arthur’s Seat

I have a huge travel bug right now. But I am in no position to be traveling any time soon. So why not take ‘Throw Back Thursday’ to the blog level, and post about one of my favorite trips to Edinburgh, Scotland? Below are some pictures of me and the group heading toward Arthur’s Seat, the highest point in Edinburgh. We hiked to the top of the cliff (mountain?) and were expecting a peaceful and beautiful view at the top. Scroll down below for what we actually encountered at the top.

There were gypsies, travelers, and Scots, all drinking, playing music and stumbling about. We had come across an unexpected party with an eclectic group. Made for some excellent memories!

    You did it! 😀
I tried unsuccessfully last year with a friend. Instead, we found another good high point to take some photos from.ReplyCancel

We hiked up there some years ago on a really cold, but surprisingly sunny spring day. Half way up, I was carrying my jacket and hoodie over the arm – half way down, the sun vanished and it started to snow 😖
    Loved the view, though!ReplyCancel

Oh wow that is so wild! We were lucky to have clear weather when we went but it was definitely a little chilly. It was truly beautiful! ReplyCancel

[…] It was very entertaining to talk to them and some of the guys were pretty pissed (not mad, plastered). Not at all what I expected, but definitely an experience. We finally made it all the way back down, sore but proud. You can read more about my experience on Arthur’s Seat here. […]ReplyCancel
