It is nearly the weekend! And spring is on its way out with summer knocking on the door.
Summer. Long days and warm nights. A slower pace of life with easier commutes. A time to start planning beach trips and bbq’s. These are all things I enjoy about this season. Summer comes at a perfect time in the year: the half-way point. Almost like a half-time for life. Vacations and pools and laying out in the sun. The summer heat slows us down and gives us a break.
In exactly three months, I will be flying to Europe for my big trip back to London (and then to Prague and then to Iceland). It is incredible how quickly time is flying by. I still can’t believe we are already more than half-way through 2015!
I am finding myself thinking back to the beginning of this year and how so much has changed. I found myself a new job that I am very happy with so far, I have planned the trips I wanted to. And I have been keeping up with my blog like I hoped. I am creating a life that makes me happy. It is so important to set goals and chase them. I was re-reading a blog post I wrote back in February, and I realize I have accomplished almost all I had hoped for five months ago.
And now summer is here. I can’t wait to visit the shore and spend weekends with my family. I plan to take my dog on a hike in Great Falls again and spend more time outdoors.
I hope everyone is planning a fun and relaxing summer. And don’t forget Father’s Day this Sunday! I am so grateful for my amazing Dad and I know I don’t say it enough. He is a funny, smart, caring man and I am so lucky to have him as my Dad!
Happy Friday!
So true. You’re a great writer and a superb daughter. You’re a gift to the world.
