A Wintry Day in the City

As the year comes to a close I find myself busier than ever! I am in the process of finishing up all my schoolwork to prepare for finals. I have been taking science classes to pursue my career change in becoming an Earth Science teacher. I am very excited about this new journey!

With that being said, today’s post will be brief. I find myself reminiscing about a beautiful day in Washington, D.C. I had with my sister for her birthday this past year. D.C. can be a beautiful city any time of year, but there is something special about it in the winter. When the city is all bundled up and you find yourself ducking into cozy coffee shops or old bookstores to warm up.

Sara and I started off the day by visiting Eastern Market–a unique outdoor/indoor market where vendors can sell homemade crafts, art, food, etc. It is a great place to visit to support local businesses, plus everything there is one of a kind!

You can’t visit D.C. without popping into a museum or two. Since it was my sister’s birthday (and she is fascinated by criminals and the justice system) we went to the Crime and Punishment Museum. We had a lot of fun visiting the exhibits there and we even had the chance to shoot some (fake) guns!

Afterwards, we warmed up with a cup of coffee before visiting a bookstore and making our way back home. It was a special “sister” day and I am so grateful to have my sister as my best friend.

I hope everyone has an incredible Friday and weekend!

You two are my favorite! Erin you have a gift. When you can take a city that you’ve been to so many times and still view it with fresh perspective. What a cute little day and I am glad you two got to enjoy it together 🙂ReplyCancel
