I went to Florence in 2011 and had no idea what to expect. It was one of the first stops along my “spring break” while I was studying abroad. A flight to Pisa and some funny pictures later, we arrived by bus in Florence. First stop was to find our hostel – and next on the itinerary was to explore!
Florence surprised me. To this day I’d say it is my favorite European city. The small town, authentic warm feeling I felt while exploring this gorgeous place was one I’ve never felt before.
Highlights from the few short days included eating delicious Gelato, devouring some Italian pasta (and wine) and wandering down the quaint cobblestone streets to find beautiful treasures around every corner.
We hiked the Duomo (a must!), watched the sunset at Piazza Michaelangelo (a must!), saw the Statue of David (another must!) and shopped for some leather goods.
I will always remember the spirit of Florence and the way I felt while I was there. Have any of you been?
Looks so very beautiful and peaceful at that 🙂
It is – totally gorgeous! Dreamy! What you’d imagine all of Italy to be 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Andy!
I so hope to see some day ☺️
You should add it to your list, Andy!
