Newport, Rhode Island is a small seaside town with so much New England charm it hurts! (almost!)
Below are some of my favorite things to do in Newport:
Explore Thames Street
Running parallel to the water, Thames Street is the main drag in Newport and has many restaurants, shops and bars. I love walking by the fudge store and inhaling all of the delicious smells! There are many cute boutiques to hop in and out of and many delicious restaurants to enjoy.
Enjoy a meal on the water
- The Landing is a seafood specialty with waterfront outdoor seating, raw bar platters and live music.
- 41 North is a chic upscale dockside restaurant and bar with outdoor lounge seating as well as indoor. If you can, sit outside! The views are amazing.
- The Mooring, Narragansett Bay views sweeten the deal at this upscale seafood destination with outdoor dining.
- At 22 Bowen’s you can have steak and local seafood in a classy nautical-themed dining room with waterfront views.
Walk along the Cliff Walk
Take a stroll along the Cliff Walk and see the historic Newport Mansions, while enjoying the sights of the sea. If you’re looking for a great spot to watch the waves crash into the rocky shoreline, there’s no better place than the popular 40 Steps.
Have a Beach Day
Enjoy a beach day at first or second beach in Newport; both are quaint beach spots. Get there early in the summer as the beach is a popular destination for tourists!
Visit Newport Vineyards
Visit the Newport Vineyards, a winery that has tables and chairs outside during warm months, live music, board games, tours, a cafe, and a gift store. The scenery is so beautiful and you can even walk along all of the grape vines. Add some good weather and you have a lovely afternoon activity with friends!
So many beautiful memories made in Newport <3
